“What are those things all over you?” she asked bluntly. I had to take a moment to compose myself. She made my skin crawl with ants. She just made me feel nervous and small.
“Well, they are…um…birthmarks. That’s all.” I grumbled. How many times today had I been asked that question? Had no one heard of subtlety?
“Really?” She asked, and actually touched the back of my hand, nearly caressing the black skin. I flinched in surprise, but didn’t pull away. She smiled at me, her hazel eyes aglow. “I think you are pretty awesome already, my friend.” She patted my hand warmly, and I seemed to feel a little of my discomfort slough off of me. She liked me…because of my marks? That was a first.

Another dissatisfying chunk of my story. I am probably the most unorganized person ever when it comes to stories. So let me give you my idea for a story line, since it may weasel its way into pictures:
Landon is an exceptional contemporary dancer with many dark birthmarks littering his skin. He meets Jude, a punkish girl with a heart of gold, but likes to show affection in indirect ways. She protects Landon form the hurtful words he has learned to ignore, and manages to give him more confidence. Later on, he meets Summer, a painfully shy girl, also a dancer, and quite beautiful. After Landon has learned that his birthmarks don't define him, he plans to pursue the lovely girl, unknowingly breaking Jude's heart.
