Brittany continues to sing. "I'm singing," she tells him, when she finishes with her current song, "so Kurt can hear me and keep breathing."

Blaine rushes over to Kurt, who shifts slightly as he approaches.

"What the f**k happened here?" he demands, squinting in the low light and easing Kurt up into a sitting position.

"We got our wings sawed off," Kurt says, happily, and with a sick pang, Blaine realizes that the hand he placed on Kurt's back to support him is sticky with blood, and lying flat on Kurt's back.

If you can't already tell, this is a fanfic with mature themes...but it is absolutely breath-taking. Give it a go?
